And just to explain to the good people of Omaha & Iowa City why I am playing in Salt Lake City & not their fair cities, here is the thing: Since my car got wrecked, I have to drive back to Seattle to return my rental car before I fly home to Chicago, as opposed to driving back to Chicago, which I unfortunately can't do now. Salt Lake City is on my way from Denver to Seattle, and the good people at Slowtrain were nice enough to let me do this last minute instore to help me make a little gas money. I will make up the sadly cancelled Omaha & Iowa City shows as soon as I can. Maybe in September.

Also, if anyone can tell me when it's proper to use cancelled vs. canceled, I'd be super grateful.

Tour Update

Hello friends,

Yesterday I was in a car accident just outside of Seattle, & although my passenger friend George & I are okay, my poor car is pretty wrecked. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to Vancouver for the Biltmore Cabaret show last night, & I'm really sorry about that. I hate having to cancel shows, especially ones in beloved cities with beloved friends.

So, the good news is that I'm going to continue the tour in rented car. Fortunately, I have a couple of nice days to hang out in Anacortes for What the Heck Fest before making the marathon drive down to San Francisco for the Bottom of the Hill show on July 21. All of the dates with Concern will still happen as planned, but after Denver show on July 28, & I'm going to need to start making my way back to Seattle to return the rental car. Omaha & Iowa City, I promise I'll make it up to you soon.

#1 I would just like to let you know that I am already planning a September-time supplementary addendum tour of Midwestern cities that I wasn't able to fit into the summertime tour schedule. Later in the year, I am hoping to also do an additional supplementary addendum tour of Southern states that did not fit into the summer tour OR the September supplementary addendum tour. I think that is going to be the tour, folks!

After some bummer delays at the pressing plant, I will finally have the U.S. pressing of the TOWN TOPIC 7" available on this tour. I will also have a brand new 7" called STSNC INSTRUMENTALS that is sort of the sequel to the TOWN TOPIC EP. TOWN TOPIC EP + STSNC INSTRUMENTALS = all of the music that was recorded specifically for the Laurel Nakadate film, STAY THE SAME NEVER CHANGE. STSNC INSTRUMENTALS collects all of the short instrumental tracks that were used throughout the film, plus a few that didn't make the final cut, including the ringtones for some of the characters' cell phones. STSNC INSTRUMENTALS is being released by People In A Position To Know, INC in Olympia, WA. The 7" will be limited to 300 copies, and is being pressed onto random surprise colored vinyl. I don't even know what they will look like until they come back from the pressing plant! TOWN TOPIC + STSNC INSTRUMENTALS = $10, or $5 each on the merch table. Both releases will be available through mail order some time next month.
